The Rolla Holla** – Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Here I am. One week until I enter the MTC and embark on a new era of my life. I came around the bend of nervousness, through the slow journey of anxiety, and I now find myself on the upward slope of determination and excitement. I have found a new source of confidence—one far steadier and more reliable than myself. I know that the Savior is the rock upon which I can place my deepest desires, so long as they correspond with His will, and have each and every last one of them fulfilled!

Yesterday I received a letter including a DVD from my Mission President in Paraguay. The DVD included beautiful pictures, inspiring music, and, for me, a deep feeling of hope that I will be able to enjoy these next two years to the fullest. And, I guess that's partly why I begin this newsletter NOW. I want to record and share the poignant feelings that this gospel inspires, and invite comments, suggestions, and especially constructive criticism about how I might be a more effective missionary, relative, and friend.

Speaking of which, I've attached a form. If you are on this e-mail list, it means that I care about you and want to keep in touch with you, which is also the purpose of the form. SO, please fill it out get it back to me as soon as possible, but at least before next Monday so I can print all of them off and keep them in a file. Thanks, you are all GREAT!

As I prepare to leave, my feelings of love for each of you are deepened. I pray that you will all know that! This life flies by so quickly, and our time each day is short. But if I could take a lifetime to convince you all of how much I care, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I want to simply bear testimony to all of you. The standards which I hold for Truth are pretty high. That's why I've taken my time to know this Gospel is True. But the verdict is in. I now know for myself. And, I'm convinced that anyone who spends long enough in this gospel, sincerely seeking Truth and doing the things that it asks us to do, will come to know that it is True. They not only CAN, but WILL! The eternities are waiting. The time to choose is now. If you haven't yet put forth a full effort at knowing that this gospel is True, I have one simple question for you: When is your when and why is it not now? Don't keep complete peace and utter happiness waiting!

With Love that words can't express,

Kyler

**For you not up on the lingo: A "Holla" is a heartfelt outreach of love from one HFL (Homie For Life) to another. Oh, and Rolla is my second middle name: "Kyler James Rolla McCarty." Yeah, it's pretty cool. Props to Fig for inspiring the name!
